With a mix of whimsy and tenderness, “The School of Canine Massage” offers a portrait of this unique school and its dog-loving participants — revealing how people heal dogs and dogs heal people.

The film marks Emma D. Miller’s directorial debut, and is the first short to be produced under her banner Marcona Media, with Day producing. The film was shot by Ora DeKornfeld, edited by Maxwell Mueller, with sound design by Gisela Fulla-Silvestre and music by Benjamin Young.

“A piece of art…Technically ambitious and pulled off without flaws.” – Film Threat on Lead/Follow

Film Threat calls Colby Day’s short film “a piece of art… a beautiful film… with insightful commentary on falling in love.”

A stellar write-up of our short film Lead/Follow from Film Threat. “Performers are in and out of dress throughout, props like the bed move in and out as well, and the ever-changing lighting for mood is a spectacle to behold. Technically ambitious and pulled off without flaws.” [emphasis ours!]

A review that calls the film “A piece of art” is nothing to shake a stick at! We’ll take it. Thanks Film Threat!

“It truly feels like art…” –– Bain’s Film Review

Kevin Bain from Bain’s Film Review has written a rave review of the first short film from Not Impossible. “This doesn’t just feel like filmmaking at this point, it truly feels like art.”

“I’ve never seen anything quite like Lead/Follow, and that’s a good thing. It’s original, groundbreaking, and massively entertaining… it’s brilliant.”

Really grateful to Kevin Bain for this stellar review. He crafts a really thoughtful take on the film, and especially highlights the cast’s “powerful performances,” saying that “Saba and Harris deliver… They command each and every scene with poise, and they bring Lead/Follow to life.”

Also eternally grateful to the work of our cinematographer Arlene Muller, who’s named in the review… “Muller[‘s cinemagraphy] is flawless, capable of captivating viewers throughout its entirety. This doesn’t just feel like filmmaking at this point, it truly feels like art–as if someone were literally pouring their heart and soul into the film.”
